Cross snowy forests. Enjoy the view during the climb. Savor the moment once the summit has been reached. See the mountain you have just climbed during the descent. Here is a small anthology of the emotions that ski touring can provide. So, are you tempted to live this experience and discover new sensations?
Some safety instructions
Any outing in the mountains involves risks. Unfortunately, ski touring is no exception to the rule.
Before setting off on an adventure, it is essential for you to know the various safety instructions.
In addition, never leave without informing yourself of the weather forecast and snow conditions. The weather can change very quickly in the mountains. Just because you see a clear sky at the start doesn't mean it won't be threatening on the finish.
Also remember to check the avalanche risk ranging from 1 to 5 (from low to high risk).
Do not hesitate to come and take note of this information at our tourist offices. You can also consult the Météo France website to access their weather report as well as the avalanche risk of the day.
Introduction to ski touring with the tourist office
In winter, take advantage of the introduction to ski touring offered by the Valmeinier tourist office. Accompanied by an ESF instructor and our activity leaders, this is an opportunity for you to test this practice. Take the time to appreciate the ascent and contemplate the spectacular landscapes that surround us. Savor the nighttime descent to the lumpfish after a well-deserved stop at the summit.
Accessible to all levels, this activity requires registration at the tourist office for an amount of €10. The equipment can be rented from our service providers. In order to be informed of the various time slots planned, remember to consult the week schedule as well as to follow the news of the station through social networks.
