The mountains win you over and this remains valid even if you are not a fan of the ski slopes. During your winter stay, a wide range of activities are available to you. Below is a list which should give you some ideas.

Explore the mountain on a snowshoe outing

Let yourself be guided by our mountain guides (The Bouzandoc Hikes ou Horizons Nature & Mountains) during a hike in snowshoes. Discover exceptional landscapes in complete safety by following in the footsteps of our experienced guides who know every corner of the valley. You will thus have access to magical and preserved places away from the ski area.

To walk around independently, you can consult the guide to pedestrian paths. Pay close attention to the weather forecast and the risk of avalanches before your departure. The mountain remains a dangerous natural environment, even more so in winter. Don't set off on an adventure without finding out at least a little about the route you want to take, especially if it is not marked or passes through the ski slopes.

Finally, the ski lifts offer pedestrian packages. These give you unique access to one of the following chairlifts: Les Jeux, Les Grandes Drozes and Le Roi. Non-skiers therefore still have the opportunity to admire the sublime panorama at the top of these chairlifts without having to put on skis.

Get your fill of thrills

Win the heights in a different way! In Valmeinier, two options are available to you to gain height: a flight in ULM (small plane) or paraglider. One thing is certain, the experience is unforgettable with an extraordinary panorama once in the air.

Warning, paragliding is done on skis unlike the ULM.

Sledding down the slope

A great winter classic behind skiing. To slide safely, head towards bobsled track at the edge of the “Les Petites Anglaises” slope at the L’Élan residence. You can have your own sled or rent one from one of the sports stores in Valmeinier.

Another equally fun possibility, a sled race is organized every week during the winter by the Tourist Office on the 1800 snow front. To find out the date and time, remember to consult the entertainment program during your vacation.

Finally, for even more fun, take part in the snakegliss ! This supervised group sledding activity takes you down the blue “Épilobes” slope in single file. The snake is piloted by a guide who allows himself a few “S” for sensations and guaranteed laughs.

Have fun in Valmigliss

Did you come with family or friends? Valmigliss is then a must during your stay!

You will find there slips in all its variations (tubing, snow scootering, toboggan run, big air bag, etc.), unusual activities such as enjoying a fondue in an igloo, a catering service, etc.

Accessible from a very young age, Valmigliss allows you to discover the pleasures of skiing in another way and to spend a moment of relaxation and games with family and friends.

Enjoy the nightlife

Once night falls, the day does not end in Valmeinier.

Sit in front of a good film at cinema, chain the strikes together bowling Les Quilles du Tabarnak, meet around a drink among the many bars of the station and, for the more party-loving ones, let loose on the dance floor of the Brasilia until the end of the night.

Discover the local specialties

When we come on vacation to Savoie, we have fun! And it starts with food.

In order to consume local, don’t hesitate to take a trip to the Mont Tabor farm which is located at the edge of the road linking the Center Station to Valmeinier Villages. During the winter season, the farm gates are open between 17 p.m. and 19 p.m. every day except Tuesday. Watch the goats being milked and access the direct sales store to taste delicious cheeses produced on site.

Other local production, beers from the micro-brewery The Gwape. Now installed at the Le Grand Panorama II residence, the bar welcomes you every day at the end of the day to spend a pleasant time around a good artisanally produced beer.

What is better than local market to discover local products? In Valmeinier in winter, this takes place every Thursday morning in the Center Station. There you will find Savoyard specialties as well as crafts.

Finally, a week of vacation in the Alps also includes a good warm evening in a traditional restaurant. Between raclette, Savoyard fondue, tartiflette, croziflette or other specialties, the most difficult thing will be making your choice.

Go shopping

Find what you're looking for among the resort's many shops. Between the sports, souvenir and regional product stores, you have what it takes to have a good little tour.

Live magical experiences

A vacation in Valmeinier must be unforgettable. For this, how about a baptism in dog sled with Mad Dogs Sport Adventure ? Once you are comfortably seated, all you have to do is savor the moment. The magic of Valmeinier is then offered to you with a walk taking you between slopes and forests. Amazement guaranteed! Ps: It is strongly recommended to book several months in advance.

Another possibility, an exit in moonbike will ensure you an original experience. When the slopes close, the Les Carrettes hotel offers you accompanied moonbike rides, the first 100% electric and environmentally friendly snowbikes. Perfect for trying a new sliding activity at sunset by hurtling down the snowy slopes.

Relax

It is important to take time for yourself, especially during your vacation.

Enjoy a moment of relaxation within the wellness areas Grand Fourchon or Les Hauts de Valmeinier residences (reservation required). Of the Massages are also offered in Hauts de Valmeinier as well as within the Art2Lier area.

Finally, the mountain restaurant La Cabane d’En Haut has a nordic bath in an exceptional setting at 2150 meters. You can get there without skiing by taking a pedestrian pass at the Roi chairlift.
