Refuge I Ré Magi
The Refuge I RE MAGI is located at an altitude of 1.760 m, in the heart of the hamlet of Granges de la Vallée Étroite, in Briançonnais, Hautes Alpes. The refuge is located on the GR5, GTA, Via Alpina and Tour du Thabor routes.
Taking its name from the link of the Three Kings which dominates the valley, the refuge is immersed in a verdant and very flowery valley, dotted with numerous lakes and climbing sites: the "Croz del Rifugio" and the "Parete dei Militi", wall -internationally renowned rock climbing school. The refuge is located on the GR5, GTA, Via Alpina and Tour du Thabor routes. In winter as in summer, experienced mountaineers, seasoned hikers and families will find a wide choice of circuits for all levels and difficulties.
The I RE MAGI refuge exudes the flavor of Italy: regional cuisine, a friendly, warm setting, and of course, the singing accent of the entire team, who welcomes you to Re Magi for a night, a stay, a meal or a to taste. But you can also come and celebrate a birthday, organize a “cousinage” or a business seminar in season or, out of season, over a weekend. In summer, the refuge is accessible on foot of course but also by car, on horseback or by mountain bike and in winter by skis (cross-country, hiking), snowshoes or on foot.
Sleeping capacity of 35 places (a dormitory of 15 beds and small rooms of 2, 3 or 4 places), two dining rooms (one inside and one panoramic), a large terrace-solarium, a small living room with fireplace, an enclosed room for mountain bikes, a heated wardrobe (clothes dryer)...

IN SUMMER – Road access
From France, via the Col de l'Échelle and from Italy, via Bardonecchia following the departmental road to Melezet – Pian del Colle.
After the old border post continue on the road indicated “Valle Stretta”.
SUMMER – Rail access (Bardonecchia station) From France by the TGV Paris – Lyon-Bardonecchia – Turin and from Italy by the Turin-Bardonecchia rail link.
Then take the Bardonecchia-Vallée Etroite shuttle, which will take you to the refuge (for shuttle times, ask at the refuge).
IN WINTER – From Italy, town of Bardonecchia. From the Pian del Colle car park (former border post): on foot, on cross-country skis, touring skis or snowshoes (approximately 1h30).
WINTER - From France, village of Névache or town of Modane. On touring skis or snowshoes, from Névache, across the Col du Vallon, the Col des Thures or the Col des Muandes and, from Modane, across the Col de la Vallée Etroite.

- From 28/12/2023 to 31/03/2024. Reservation is required. On January 8, 9 and 10, 2024 the refuge will be closed.
