This winter, the Valmeinier resort will meet you on Thursday February 29 2024 to properly celebrate the 50th anniversary of the youngest resort in Maurienne in Savoie.
50 years of sharing and emotions
From the lunch break, Yoann L. will begin his DJ set to get in the mood and sparkle all the senses then mini-games and distribution of small gifts will take place around the snow front in the resort center.
At nightfall, luminous wanderings will bring together young and old before the official launch of the evening, at 19 p.m., by Mr Alexandre Albrieux, Mayor of Valmeinier and master of ceremonies.
Indeed, to celebrate together the 50th anniversary of winter sports in Valmeinier, a show with a light and dreamlike show was concocted.
On the program, aerial daydreams will join in the innovation of FPV drones to illustrate the ancient dream of a few Valmineux come true in this territory of nature and pleasures.
Reflecting the modernity of the youngest station in Maurienne, Theo Dari, original creator of Laser manipulation and finalist of the show “France has an incredible talent” will offer his performance laser with stunning, fast-paced visual experiences. Finally, other artists will be able to awaken and mark the imagination of spectators by highlighting the symbolic birth of Valmeinier and his founding dynamism.
The resort’s “snow” actors will open the show with a unique ski show, like the snow groomers who will trace a huge “V” on the slopes with their machines, and the number “50” will be represented by the ESF ski instructors and the young people from the ski club during the torchlight descent.
At nightfall, the festivities will end with a fireworks show breathtaking and frenzied duo DJ lounge saxophonist.
4 things to remember about Valmeinier’s 50th anniversary
- Personalized objects dedicated to “50 years” are available for purchase in stores and as gifts during events!
- Personalized quizzes will also be organized, with the chance to win ski passes and a week's stay!
- Many photo exhibitions, illustrating the evolution of the station, are open to the public at the Maison de Valmeinier (Valmeinier 1800). A exhibition of press articles will also be accessible at the Town Hall (Valmeinier Villages).
- Fun heritage booklets for families! In order to make young people aware of the history and rich heritage of Valmeinier, a fun booklet will be given to each family including a spot-the-differences game!

Special 50th anniversary competition
Are you 50 this year? Take part in our 50th anniversary competition to try to win the following prize (valid for winter 2024-2025 excluding school holidays):
- a one-week stay for two people in Valmeinier during winter 2024-2025 and outside school holidays, offered by the Valmeinier tourist office,
- two 6-day ski passes at Domaine Galibier Thabor, offered by SEMVAL, during the same periods,
- ski lessons for two people offered by the ESF of Valmeinier, during the same periods as the stay,
- ski equipment for two people, offered by Intersport, during the same periods as the stay.
To participate in this 50th anniversary competition, a entry form to complete is available at the reception of the Center Station Tourist Office (1800) at the following address: Résidence l'Ours Blanc, 73450 Valmeinier. The regulations available above must also be accepted.
