At an altitude of 1600 m, Virginie and Benjamin invite holidaymakers to come and discover their traditional farm. This new couple of breeders took over a herd of 60 goats and 4 goats! They organize free visits to watch the milking of the goats. Their specialty: "goat delight", a soft cheese with a bloomy rind awarded with a gold medal. To be enjoyed without delay!
Virginie and Benjamin Barbier: the new farmers and their goats
There are times in life when all the planets align. This was indeed the case for Benjamin and Virginie Barbier. During the first confinement, Benjamin sees the possibility of realizing his childhood dream: to have his own farm and raise goats in the mountains. Benjamin and Virginie then decided to quit their Ardennes life to come to Savoie. The couple and their three children sold the family electricity business to take over the Ferme du Mont Thabor and produce cheese on site.
Virginie and Benjamin welcome you with pleasure in the midst of their 60 biquettes and their companions for a tasting, a visit or the opportunity to bring home a good goat's cheese. We particularly recommend the wild garlic “enrobés” or the famous “délices”! And if you want to extend the experience, don't hesitate to sleep in the farm cottage!
