Valmeinier

Lac Vert

The ski season is over? It's time to go to the green lake! In spring you will be seduced by its snow-white setting. In summer you will be delighted by its turquoise waters. And in the fall you will be transported by the magic of its orange reflections.
The song of the torrent rushing down the mountain accompanies you on the way to Lac Vert. The sound of water bouncing from pebble to pebble punctuates your ascent and brings freshness and well-being.

Depending on the season, a multitude of wildflowers color the meadow and fill the air with their honeyed scent.

Then the green lake appears in its natural and wild atmosphere. Its waters sparkle in the sun like fireworks in broad daylight.

The atmosphere is so peaceful that you stop to savor this magical moment while admiring the view of the Valmeinier valley. Maybe you will even want to swim? But be careful, the water is cold!

Then it's time to return, on the path that winds through the blueberry bushes. The smartest will have thought to take a bag and bring back enough to make a good pie. But tell me, why is your mouth purple? You couldn't wait for the dough to be cooked...

Easy/medium walk. The green lake offers panoramas over the entire Valmeinier valley. The trail is marked all along, just follow the direction of Lac Vert from the Station snow front! Follow the “Lac Vert” signs.

From the snow front, take the footbridge that crosses the road then follow the “Chenalette” via the “Déserts d'en haut”.

At the “Chenalette” follow the “Lac Vert” via “Ordière”, “Mathoset” then “Portete”.
Return by the same route or Loop possible by "Coterieux" (From "Lac Vert" take the path of "Coterieux" to the right upstream of the lake, then Mathoset by "sur le planay", about 20 minutes more).

To discover: the great classic of Valmeinier, to discover the bottom of the valley and the Neuvache.
